The knowledge of modern foreign languages for technical specialists and scientists is the key one for them to be able to demonstrate their competitiveness on the world market and contribute to the successful development of regional industry.

The existing methodology in teaching foreign languages in technical universities does not fully meet the requirements of modern life. This fact determined the development of the project LAPROCOM (New Language Curriculum for Professional Communication) and participation in TEMPUS programme.

The new methodology and new curricula of teaching English, as the most widely spread foreign language for technical specialists will contribute to integration of Russian universities into the Common Education Space and enhance the university staff to participate in international cooperation and scientific research with foreign universities and teacher- and student- exchange programmes between universities to develop SibSAU in the sphere of international exchange and collaboration.
